After we left the Book of Mormon publication site we headed to the Smith family farm. They had the log home, frame home, thresher barn and the cooper shop, and sacred grove. Outside each place they had missionaries that shared stories about the structure and what happened there. While we were waiting for some people to use the restroom and we were sitting outside the visitors center we started talking to an Elder who we found out was the Site director with his wife and he shared several stories with us that we had never heard before. We learned that there were 21 documented Moroni and Joseph Smith encounters and more about their relationship. He told us several things and we felt blessed to hear these stories. After we toured the homes we went into the sacred grove, the minute we entered Joseph Smiths First Prayer popped into my head and I started singing. As we walked and the words to the song were bees were humming sweet birds singing, music ringing through the grove, you could hear the bees and the birds and it was musical. When I came to the words "Joseph this is my beloved, hear him oh how sweet the word." Joseph's humble prayer was answered and he listened to the Lord, the spirit was so strong that I started to cry. The feeling in the grove was amazing and I felt so honored to be walking where Joseph Smith prayed and where Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him. It was such a wonderful, testimony building experience.
